Microsoft Say Macedonia is a campaign which supports the usage of the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia in the system and aplicative software of the Microsoft Corporation. The campaign started on June 17th 2007 when the official web page was launched. The goal of the campaign is to animate the institutions of the Republic of Macedonia and the whole macedonian society to find a final solution - usage of the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia in the software applications of the Microsoft Corporation. It is the campaigns position that Microsoft is building a non-principle policy towards the Republic of Macedonia in the last 10 years, using the temporary reference FYROM instead of the constitutional name.
This is confirmed also by the newest operating system Windows Vista, as well as by all other program packages, where the FYROM reference is used.
The campaign also fights against the usage of the Macedonian (FYROM) language in the list of languages, where only Macedonian should be written, since there is no such language as Macedonian (FYROM).
The campaign is going to take place in several phases, where open letters to the involved parties will be sent, as well as petitions, announcements and other activities. The idea is to get continuous support from the media in the Republic of Macedonia. One of the important characteristics of this campaign is the fact that all activities are performed exclusively via electronic way. In that way the campaign wants to give its support to the development of the informatics society in the Republic of Macedonia.
